Social-media users say they have spotted a sign that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are not going to last as a couple in a new photo online.

The pop star and Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end began “hanging out” in July, before going public with their relationship in September.

The couple still seem to be going strong, with the singer joining Kelce on the field after his team’s 17-10 victory against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Newsweek has reached out to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for comment via email.

The duo, both 34, appeared loved up, with Swift planting a celebratory kiss on her football-star boyfriend. Fans even caught Kelce’s nickname for the Grammy winner, with the NFL player heard calling Swift “sweetie,” while they embraced at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.

However, proponents of the “Green Line Test” say that the way that Swift grabbed Kelce for a smooch is a very bad sign for the romance. The test is a body-language theory that claims how a couple stands next to one another when posing for photos is a barometer for the relationship.

Popular among conservatives, the theory says the person leaning in towards their partner in pictures holds all the power. Although this theory has been debunked by body-language experts, the Green Line Test has gone viral on several occasions.

Many people have attempted to analyze snaps of celebrity couples online using the theory, often saying that the male partner is weak, while adding that the female partner is domineering.

Kelce and Swift are the latest lovebirds to get the Green Line treatment on social media, with users scrutinizing photos of the couple following Sunday’s AFC Championship game.

Rivelino, who is reportedly the creator of the Green Line Test, shared a snap of Swift and Kelce kissing to X, formerly Twitter, on Monday. The “Anti-Hero” singer has her hands on the Chiefs’ star’s face, seemingly pulling him towards her.

A dotted green line has been drawn across Kelce’s body from his shoulder to the top of his head, while Swift is covered with a straighter, solid green line. Rivelino has highlighted Swift’s hand with a green circle, dubbing it “the face claw.”

“Leaning in + face claw = this is NOT going to last,” the caption read.

Other users began to share the image across X, with Jack Poso dubbing the claw a “domination move.” “The Claw is when a woman puts her hand on her man’s shoulder or up near his neck,” Poso said. “VERY BAD.”

However, other users quashed the theory, with Jeremy Ryan Slate commenting: “He kissed her, she didn’t kiss him.”

“I mean it has nothing to do with the fact he’s like half a foot taller than her,” posted Kurtis Morrow.

“I don’t even know what the green line is but it seems that the shoulder pads are relevant,” wrote Marcher De Nass.

“I didn’t think that was a control move,” commented Beth. “I’m not a fan of Taylor, but don’t think you can judge that.”

The sports reporter Ian Rapoport said that Swift will be watching the Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers at the Super Bowl at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 12. This is despite Swift continuing with her record-breaking Eras Tour, with the pop icon reportedly traveling 12 hours from Japan to see Kelce play.
