Richard Jefferson, once an NBA player and now an ESPN analyst, often hailed as one of the best players to never grace an All-Star team, achieved success during his tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He clinched his sole NBA championship in 2016, partnering with LeBron James.

As a guest on the podcast “We Might Be Drunk,” hosted by Sam Morril and Mark Nomans, Richard Jefferson reminisced about a wild night of partying and getting drunk during his time in the NBA. His anecdotes centered on his experiences with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his former team.

As he recounted his tale, he delved into a particular memory from his days with the Cavaliers when they traveled to Toronto to take on the Raptors. He said:

Toronto Raptors vs. Golden State Warriors – Game Highlights

We landed in Toronto. We had a game, (we) used to play early games. So, we had a game probably at like 2, and my boy was like, 'hey let's go out to Vince's Club.

Continuing his narrative, he reflected on the encounters they had with girls at the club, pondering their identities, even speculating if they were part of a bridal party. It wasn’t until later that he discovered they were members of the Toronto Raptors dance team, reveling in their Christmas party celebrations. Despite indulging in a night of revelry, he went on to deliver one of his best performances on the court the following day.

When I tell you the next day I have one of my greatest games I have like 20 points in the first half...end up like 39 that game but I remember looking over at their whole dance team and they're like all in a row they were all beautiful women.

This story highlights the enjoyment NBA players experience during their downtime, particularly when traveling on the road and opting to bond as a team.

Richard Jefferson believes he can beat Michael Jordan in a 1-on-1 battle today

Richard Jefferson, a former NBA player, boldly stated during All-Star weekend media interviews that he could defeat 61-year-old, Michael Jordan in a one-on-one match today. Jefferson, 43, who spent 18 years in the league, likely wouldn’t have made such a claim during his active NBA career. With Jordan now focused on cigars at 61, Jefferson’s confidence reflected his belief in his abilities.

Jefferson said:

I'd cook his as*, no disrespect. MJ whooped me when he was 40 and I was 20, but bodies start catching up in different places when you're older.

With Richard Jefferson, aged 43, maintaining remarkable fitness and staying closely connected to the game as an ESPN analyst, his belief in defeating the greatest basketball player ever, even in 2024, seems justified. Jefferson was a mighty force during his playing days.
